Review on Ameriwood Home Lawrence πŸ“š 4-Shelf Black Ladder Bookcase Bundle by Julie Howard

Not super quality but functional

So there were some unexpected surprises that I wish the description had covered, but overall it works as a decent bookshelf. PROS: - Seems relatively strong and stable - Color matches description: black - Arrived very well packaged - Instructions were easy to follow CONS: - Metal frame only. The rest of the bookshelf is chipboard so not as high quality as I was hoping. I'm definitely glad I didn't pay the "MSRP" cost. Also, since it's chipboard, it's relatively easy to scratch and I doubt its long-term quality, especially around younger children. 2 of the 4 shelves are not flat or are at a 90 degree angle so the items on the shelf tilt slightly forward. and so you have to be careful with fragile items on these shelves - when reassembling, several holes did not always correspond to the holes in the frame. Maybe that's why the frames aren't level? - The build quality is also questionable. One of the frames had a dent right where a screw hole was supposed to be, so we had to drill it ourselves. One of the smaller assembly pieces was also partially broken, so we had to glue it together and paint the crack to hide it. not a bad deal for the $108 retail price but I would have preferred something of higher quality even if it cost a little more.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Piggy bank Price
