Review on Tingyuan Pop Up Greenhouse Mini Greenhouse For Indoor Outdoor 27"X27"X31 by Jordan Epps

Sturdier than expected! Not the greatest ventilation options.

I've now had this mini greenhouse for a year, and am pleasantly surprised. I got it for getting a head start with my tomatoes, and it worked great for that. I ended up using it all season for succession starting seeds, and other uses. I used it as a cold frame in the colder weather.I expected it to degrade or crack, left outside all year -- but it held up perfectly. I live in a mild, temperate climate (Pacific Northwest), but we did have a few hard freezes this winter, plus this greenhouse was in the sun most of the year. The fabric stitching and plastic have both held up very well, and I think I can expect a couple years out of it at this rate, which isn't bad for the price! It also was easy to keep secure with stakes and bricks on the skirt, through a series of windstorms we had. (I wouldn't have trusted the stakes alone.) The skirt is very nice for keeping warmth in, as well.It does have a stinky PVC/vinyl smell at first.Biggest drawback is ventilation. The only option for ventilation is the main zippered door, without a vent on the other side for cross-ventilation. It's difficult to only vent *just a little* because of how the door is zippered. This is no big deal for early season starts, but since I was using it later into the season it could be a bit of a pain. To deal with unseasonably hot days, I had to tip it up so there was a gap underneath and the door was a bit higher to allow some cross-ventilation, or even take it off entirely, which created sudden changes in humidity which my plants didn't like.I may cut my own little ventilation window opposite the door, and/or hook up a waterproof solar computer fan, if I decide to use this all season this year. But I have upgraded to a walk-in greenhouse, so I may just use this early in the season and put it away later. Also, I've had multiple passers-by comment that it's "cute", which is a good thing for maintaining friendly relations with neighbors when you do front-yard vegetable gardening.

Pros

Cons
  • Cannot accommodate larger numbers of plants
