Let's start with the good. I have a JDM-40 controller and it fits the outside perfectly. There are no gaps or seams on the edges, the look is fantastic. The texture is very soft to the touch and smooth when you run your hands over it. Fits perfectly in the hand when assembled. The analog sticks slide along the edge of the plastic. All the innards fit well except for the silicone part of the home button. I had to put my free hand to get it in the right place. The PS button cutout does not match the silicone design of the JDM-40 controller. Poorly. The screws are awfully soft metal. The holes are unthreaded. Two screws broke off when I covered the threads with the included screws. Headache Lesson 1. Do it without shell installed first! If it sticks, you can always use needle nose pliers to secure the screw. I learned this the hard way because I couldn't unscrew the screws and I had to break the controller, destroying the bottom of the case in the process. The upper shell was fine. Because of this, I had to buy a small case (extremeRate sells several textured grips, and I opted for soft-brushed aluminum). If I spent $15 to fix the controller I'd be happy with the original. Bad thing #2: The cutout for the right analog stick wasn't perfect and my stick rubbed against the wall when I tilted the stick down. I had to sand the inside (used 600 grit, then steel wool, then microgrid to polish it again). It took about 20 minutes to sand it down and assemble it for inspection. I carefully polished it so that the scratches were not visible from the outside due to the transparent nature of this bowl. I am happy to report that there are no scuffs and it looks good and the stick moves freely and smoothly. All in all, knowing what I know now, I would buy it again for another controller. If you decide to buy one, watch out for bad screws and adjust them.
