Review on πŸ‘œ Women's Travelon Heritage Tour Pewter Handbags & Wallets with Anti-Theft Features by Denise Shippee

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A good replacement for my old holdall for the most part.

I took it on a 2 week trip to Europe where I probably visited places with a lot of pickpockets. My bags weren't stolen, but I was also very careful, carried my bag on my body most of the time and didn't talk to anyone about 'do you speak English?'. or "Are you from America?" After the front pocket latch broke, I reorganized my bag to store trash and other unwanted items in case someone tried to take my purse. All in all it was a good holdall but it could be improved. Pros: Lots of compartments, side pockets, great for carrying a small umbrella (it rained almost every day), mostly solid construction. It holds the weight well, except for one small issue detailed below. It's big enough to hold an iPad, my sketchbook (about the size of an iPad), and a few other small items. (I've been known to carry everything but the kitchen sink.) A slightly hidden pocket on the back of the bag is ideal for carrying a passport and other valuable items that don't need regular access. Cons: Front pockets cannot be overstuffed without interfering with the main compartment. Within 3 days of use, the metal latch securing one of the front compartments broke. I will contact Travelon to see if it can be repaired. Finally, the strap can be lengthened/shortened, but the piece of metal and the strips of fabric can be very uncomfortable on the shoulder/back, depending on the case. EDIT: Travelon cannot repair the bag but will honor the warranty and will send a new bag if I send photos showing I destroyed the bag with a knife/scissors and rendered it unusable. That seems extremely wasteful to me, so I'll just fix it myself.

Pros
  • Pretty to look at
Cons
  • Functionality
