While looking for a new bag from one of my two favorite brands, Timbuk2 and Crumpler, I came across Healthy Bag Backs. I liked the concept - and all the pockets. After watching one of the company's videos, I settled on Small. As I unfolded it I wondered if the medium wasn't smarter, but after a week of daily use I found the small to be more than adequate for what I carry around. It comfortably fits Kindle, cell phone, A5 diary, A6 journal, pen set, hand cream, scarf, wallet, small thermos, cosmetics, keys, fingerless gloves, collapsible dog water bowl (as well as treats and pouches) and non-standard items. I could be with me on a certain day. The light lining makes it easier to find bags and items. This is a great bag for those who carry a lot of small items but hate messing with them. My biggest concern was security, so pickpockets. When it comes to backpacks, it worries me more and more. AmeriBag's interior zippered pockets come in handy to store your wallet or documents. And even a full bag hugs the body so that the double zip in its main compartment sits securely, regardless of whether the bag is carried crosswise or over the shoulder. There is also a D-ring at the top that you can clip a wallet to. (I adapted a small zippered wallet and card slots by adding a ring and carabiner.) For the first few days, I used the outside zippered pocket to store my phone, but the deep slip pocket is just as secure, reaching up to my phone faster when he calls. The bag is well made. Microfiber is durable and invisible (no shine). The bag looks great with casual wear and also goes well with office wear. Although it can be carried on the back, it doesn't have the uncomfortable bulkiness of a backpack. Overall, I'm happy enough with this bag to consider a second, possibly larger, size for carry-on when traveling.
