Review on 🚗 CURT 2-Inch Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver for Jeep Grand Cherokee WK, Black by Ryan Barton

This Curt Manufacturing Class III receiver was extremely easy to install! I installed it on a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The hardest part was getting my father-in-law to listen instead of cutting corners and making "long cuts"! He insisted we not lower the hoop all the way so I spent half the time getting him to keep the dangling hoop off the receiver so I could tighten the bolts! It was extremely easy to install; It would be easier if we removed the tire like INSTRUCTIONS INSTRUCTIONS lol. I enlisted his help more or less because he wanted to help, but I was able to EASY install it myself. The instructions state that the installation time for a beginner is 120 minutes. I'm not a pro, so I guess I'm in the rookie category. If I didn't have to deal with my father-in-law, I could easily install it in 45 minutes. Having installed and used this receiver several times, I am very satisfied with it. It is very durable and finely crafted! I've installed a receiver before (one that mounts on either side of the frame) and I can't tell you how much easier it is! The only way to make installation easier is to install it yourself! Also, I LOVE that the nuts are welded to the hitch; This feature, along with mounting to the cross frame rather than the sides, allows for one person installation instead of two. It's worth noting that I only had to remove the two "plastic latches" closest to the hitch, and that gave me plenty of room to work. Both fasteners I removed broke and I had to use the fasteners that were provided to replace them. They don't fit as snugly as stock mounts, but they do. I also watched the installation video from Curt Mfg. looked at and they said that shims should be placed between the receiver and the frame if you couldn't tighten them securely. They said you might not need an install and without them it would probably be pretty tight. I mounted it without washers and it fits perfectly. Overall I am very happy with this receiver and have no complaints.
