Works great on my African American hair

I've tried MANY other more expensive sulfate free shampoos and keep coming back to this one because I love how soft it leaves my hair and how clean it feels on my hair and scalp . after washing. My hair is actually softer than any other shampoo I've used after using this shampoo, but not so soft that I forego conditioner. Most sulfate free shampoos leave my hair a little tangled and feeling like moisture has been sucked out, similar to how I feel when you wash your hair with hard water for the first time, but not this time! They definitely tangle less and my hair still feels hydrated. I also feel like it gives my hair a more controlled shape. I like long hair, but I don't like the curls that seem to accompany it. My hair is thick and tends to go wild at the first touch of moisture, so it's always difficult to find a shampoo and conditioner that doesn't make the problem worse, but also doesn't straighten my hair. I feel like the combination of this shampoo and conditioner really helps to pre-tame my frizzy hair. and does not weigh down the hair. I love the smell too! It's hard to describe because it's not exactly floral, but it's not overly perfumed either. As odd as that description is, I'd say it stinks. Fresh. Much like how shampoos can take on an overall fresh scent when you're in a cabin in the woods or something. It's like all that fresh mountain air that somehow makes everything smell cleaner and soulful. This is what this shampoo smells like. Me.🤷🏽‍♀️I checked my order history and it turns out that I've been buying this particular shampoo since March 2015, so I clearly like those things.🥰I love both this shampoo and conditioner and I definitely recommend it , especially if you are looking for a more affordable hair care option. I like the conditioner even better than Opalex and I subscribe to the shampoo and conditioner monthly via "Subscribe and save"🤓
