Review on 🐢 40-Pound Victor Dog Food Classic - Hi-Pro Plus, Dry Dog Food (2374) by Cindy Beaver

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best nutritional values for large/giant breed puppies.

My Cane Corso puppy and two adult pugs love this food. It also has the perfect amount of protein (30%) and calcium (1.4%) for my giant pup. The calcium/phosphorus ratio is also good (1.4/1.0). Many people don't realize how important this is for large breeds. You do NOT want larger breeds to grow too fast. It's terrible for their joints and increases the likelihood of developing hip dysplasia or elbow problems. You want steady, steady growth for these big boys (and girls). I know some of you want them to be as big as possible but don't worry they will get as big as possible no matter how fast they grow. Most importantly, when they reach their full size, they can enjoy life happily and pain-free. I had a Rotty in the 90's that had severe dysplasia and believe me you don't want your dog to suffer like that. Yes, that was before I knew the importance of growth rate. Anyway, the point is that this is the perfect dog food for large/giant breed owners. Another plus is that his poop is much firmer and more consistent (even pugs). In fact, they're pretty smelly. I had taken her on Taste of the Wild before and her poop was much softer (and still smelled). This food also had good nutritional content, but it seems better for my dog's digestion. The dog food consultant enthusiastically recommends this product and so do I.
