Review on ๐ŸŽง PDP Gaming LVL50 Xbox One Wireless Stereo Headset with Noise Cancelling Microphone - Black by Kevin Baker

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Definitely a good buy for the price but not the most comfortable

I used to always use wired headsets for gaming audio. Recently, after buying one of the non-standard and expensive Xbox One controllers, I decided to buy a wireless headset so the cables would never get tangled and drop it. I'm glad I did, the sound quality is definitely way better than the wired headset I used. BUT, my biggest issue, and therefore an issue with this particular device, is just the convenience, which brings the overall score down to 4 for me. I've given my head time to adjust to the weight and size of the LVL50 and it just doesn't get much better. After just a few hours, my head feels like a very strong person is pressing on my head, which makes my inner ear sweat a lot. Another issue that lowers the score to 3 is that the USB dongle doesn't pass audio through when the headset isn't powered on, so the user has to manually uninstall and reinstall if using a different wired headset, which works for me very impractical is opinion. That aside, the sound quality is fantastic and the battery life is pretty damn close to what is advertised. The overhead mic material probably could have been a different material as well, as it seems it can buckle with heavy breathing. How this indicates long-term use is unknown, but I think it could start to cause problems within a few months of use. I think that switching to a cheaper PDP box might take away some of the worries about the lower price as expectations won't be as high. I don't know if I would offer this device to another man, maybe a player with a smaller head and lower body temperature.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Very expensive
