We are moving and have 1 dog and 1 cat. The last time I moved my dog it was this type of kennel and it worked great so I bought 2 of these. I bought based on the stretched length and height of our animals. Our cat is closer to the size of a Maine Coon and our dog is small, 11 pounds, but long. Based on that I bought 2 large stands (the airline said these 'large' stands are measured as an average in their size charts, so keep that in mind). They have more than enough room for a recommended pillow (under "buy this kennel often") and a soft blanket. Plenty of room to stretch out and turn around. So for a larger cat and a smaller 11 lb dog, the plus size is the perfect size. If you have a larger animal I will carefully measure it before purchasing. Otherwise it's solid, very easy to assemble, 2 wheels are lockable which is great. And on the sides there are convenient lifting corners for hands. My cat and dog seem absolutely comfortable in them. I feel safe putting them in for our flight.
