It’s stainless steel but the inside of the poles looks kinda rusty. I don’t like any rust in my house because rust is like herpes, it spreads.The shelf tips easy; it’s not stable. It will tip so figure out some kind of anchor thing or don’t have dogs or kids or stupid guests.Also it has a diagram of parts numbered, not instructions.I would not purchase. I only gave that rating for price and look when completed and untouched or weighed down.
