The latest nylon belt was a slimmer "brand" that lasted for many years. It's comparable, but wider and a little thicker - for a fraction of the cost. Time will tell if there's durability, but after the first dozen or so it looks like the task will suffice. This is primarily used to support the weight of a small but heavily loaded tool bag and phone and is perfect for that. Could definitely see it being solid enough for almost any tactical purpose. There's brown and black, and there's a slight difference in length (about 3/4 inch) and heated end cut, but otherwise they appear identical. Very good buckle. Highly recommended.
