Excellent connection, can be used on different devices without connection.
I have an Apple Pencil but wanted another for my daughter who got a new iPad. Got this and it's amazingly good and easy to use. I didn't like the Apple Pencil as I always lost the charging adapter. However, this is completely unproblematic. Just click on it and you're good to go and it helps to have a USB-C charger. And what makes me really happy is that I can use it on her iPad and my iPad at the same time without having to connect (unlike the Apple Pencil).
