I wanted to make an OS for a home server on a flash drive so that any x86 computer could be turned into a server by simply plugging a flash drive. The server data itself is on a separate SSD, on which there is only data without an OS. With Linux, such a scheme seems to work fine, apparently it doesn’t torment the flash drive like Windows does. But Windows To Go is not suitable - Windows constantly freezes even without a paging file and with the antivirus disabled.
