Thought this would work for me but when I connected my DirecTV DVR, Apple TV and PS4 it automatically switched to just my PS4. It will not switch between devices (DirecTV and Apple TV) that are in REST mode. I tried to return this falsely advertised product, but I managed to get through 30 days. So I wrote to Fosmon directly. Although a quick and detailed answer was unsatisfactory. Here's what I was told: "The automatic switching function of this switch relies on the voltage supplied by the devices connected to it. When the device goes to sleep instead of turning off, it still provides a 5V signal over HDMI and tells the switch that it's active. When a new device starts supplying this 5V signal, it will switch to this input. To take full advantage of the auto switching feature, you must ensure that other connected devices are completely powered off and not in sleep or standby mode. This ensures that the switch doesn't detect that the device is on and switches to it when it's on and it starts detecting a signal again. "Do I have to turn off my DirecTV DVR and AppleTV for them to switch automatically? The title description incorrectly advertises that it works with AppleTV.
