Treats toenail fungus (and plantar warts) but it takes time and effort!

After two consecutive pregnancies (immunosuppression and exhaustion turned into an infection) I discovered my toenails were rotting due to a fungus. It was ugly and painful (put into the skin). My husband successfully got rid of a plantar wart in just two months that two doctors couldn't get rid of with daily baths and scrubs for two years. I decided to try this route instead of an oral antifungal, but there was a strict regimen. I am currently in my sixth month and my nails are almost 100 percent clean! - no nail polish! - Soak your nails daily and don't skip them, especially the first few months (I missed a few weeks due to travel and he's back) - I have two toddlers and find time to soak one foot at a time while I get ready for the new day. - After the first soak and once the nail is soft enough, buff/trim until all infected nail is gone. Sometimes my nails were paper thin, which helps the mask and tea tree penetrate the nail bed. Do this daily until there is only one healthy nail left, even if your nails look ugly - it's worth it. I bought a pack of small buffs and nail files from Revain. Use a new one for each nail, then throw away - DO NOT REUSE! I also used the very sharp Tweezerman cuticle scissors which I trimmed the nail with (make sure to sanitize each time you use them). - When polishing, be careful not to polish the leather. I got too aggressive and rubbed my toes. Ouch! - continued buffing, filing and trimming - then I wrapped my toes in a cotton swab dipped in tea tree oil overnight; I used bandage tape that looks like duct tape. The nails looked at their worst after three to four months because the diseased nail fell off (or came back slightly when trimmed) and I kept trimming it - not sure how much it helped, but I switched to copper-coated socks, which are supposed to protect against fungus and bacteria; Clean your shoes with Lysol. It takes time but it works. I have near-perfect pink toes and can easily do without nail polish (just went to Hawaii and proudly showed off my toes). The nail is still growing, so it's a bit uneven, it's a healthy nail. Every week the cut off part is "gluedโ€ to the nail bed. Now I soak and wrap my toes weekly as a precaution.
