Within two days I tested three water samples with a pH meter with a resolution of 0.1. Each sample came from a tap. Two tests were conducted: 1. Tap water is poured directly into the jug.2. The pitcher was filled with tap water previously filtered using a set of Berkey filters (both with a standard black element and an optional white PF-2 arsenic fluoride element). The results were as follows: 1. Tap water -> Lake Industries pitcher: 7.3 -> 9.12. Berkey Filtered Tap Water -> Pitcher: 8.1 -> 9.2 I am happy with these results. I'm also happy with the filtration my Berkey already does (because it filters a wider range of additives); However, I wanted to use this pitcher to further alkalize the pH of my standard drinking water.
