Review on Enhanced Functionality of the JXD Handheld Portable Console by Jamil Fog

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The price cannot exceed $20.

Get ready for an honest tirade. ;) I bought this mainly for classic RPGs and fighting games. Fighting games played but the controls were sticky and unusable. Not to mention LOUD! I got complaints whenever I used it that the button press was too frustrating. They are so loud that I couldn't hear the game sounds clearly unless I was wearing headphones. The Dpad keys kept getting stuck and made action games unplayable. And the joystick is not accurate. It also continued to get stuck in one of the four directions and did not disengage for some time after liberation. Quite a few RPGs I bought this for didn't work. They said they couldn't boot. They have played on every other system I have so I know the files are fine. I've downloaded several times via USB and with different file versions and still haven't played. The firmware uses an outdated and buggy BIOS. Glitchy graphics and poor interface. The names of the games are unclear so it's like gambling to see which game I would get. Some games ran smoothly after loading, others continued to flicker. Screen and sound were fine. Not good, but decent. The screen cover was plastic (the screen itself, not the protective film that came with it) and the images weren't clear. There was a black line around the edges cutting off part of the playable area. This is important if you want to track points or health. The battery lasted several hours with new games and only an hour or two with arcade games. Not bad, except that the battery warning is not always displayed and the device turns off unexpectedly when the battery is low. Turning on the LED was very bright and distracting. It won't turn off after playing for a long time. Bottom line: don't waste your frustration or money on it. Save on the best system. The one with the better software, controls and screen. I wouldn't mind if it was half the price but it turned out to be a lot more expensive than what I got. I enjoyed playing games with downloaded games more than trying to play games with horrible clicking controls.
