Today I used it for the first time to scan a 20 year old VHSc tape. Accessing the AA battery compartment takes some getting used to. However, it doesn't take long to master the technique of pressing the grooved part with your thumb and then sliding the door up. If you're playing old VHSc tapes, I would recommend that you first use an adapter to loosen up the tape by doing at least one fast forward and rewind. To eject the VHSc from the adapter, slide the eject button from the top, then turn the adapter over and gently press the white VHSc spool with your finger. Be sure to put your hand underneath to catch the band if it falls out. Before storing the adapter, it is recommended to remove the AA battery to prevent battery leakage from damaging the adapter. Apply this rule to all devices that are not used daily or weekly. I hope that my adapter can be used for years.
