I have very curly hair and don't straighten it very often, so I wanted something that wasn't too expensive as I don't use it often. I used it for the first time and I really liked it. Straightens my curls very well. This is the perfect size for on-the-go, but if you have thicker hair and want to do large sections at once, you may need a larger section. There are two temperature settings: low and high, I used high for my hair. The only downside I see is that there is no locking feature so I just wrap the cord around it to fold. Overall a great flat iron for the price.
