I bought this along with window film installation spray. It was about $4. I also had a squeegee and box cutter handy. I carefully cleaned the windows and cut the foil with scissors. The backing paper has grid lines so it was easy enough. I didn't measure - just looked at it because I knew I would cut it to the exact size once it was on the jar. I had two pieces of glass to coat, so I basically did everything twice. With the first one I sprayed a large amount of solution onto the glass, peeled the paper backing from the foil, applied the foil to the glass, shook it off a little, cut off the excess foil on the sides and wrung out a bit more. That was great! I couldn't believe how easy it was! I had a little more trouble with the second pane of glass as some of the cat hair got tangled and caught between the foil and the glass, but to my relief I was able to remove the foil and wipe the cat hair off. , spray on more solution and reapply the film. Actually it happened twice before I understood everything. So despite all the cat hair drama, nothing got messed up. The end result was as perfect as the first piece of glass. I inserted a photo. I bought this for my toddler's bedroom. We live in an apartment and love so many apartments; the lighting is not very good. There is no overhead light in her room, but she has a lamp and during the day she gets a lot of light from the window when the blinds are raised a little. What bothered me the most was that we were on the first floor and their windows faced the parking lot and the busy sidewalk was right outside their window. It's a great area, lots of dogs and other kids. People are always out of the house. It always startled me a little when I pulled up at the parking lot and realized I could see straight into her room. She has a little play kitchen right outside her window, so she often stands right there. I just wanted to give her some privacy without blocking the bright sunlight. This movie is wonderful. I am very satisfied and will definitely buy again if I need more in the future.
