I would not recommend this carrier for cats. Not only is it very easy for them to stick their heads out, it is also very crowded. Kittens can't use it for a long time and your adult cats have no place in it. pretty durable, cats can't scratch it but it can't keep them inside because the zippers pop open when you put a limb (or head) through the latch. They can even come out when fully inside, it's not difficult.
