The SE jewelry tray is great for displaying (very) small items such as coins, small gems or pearls. etc. The problem is that the containers are very small and most of the space is taken up by foam. The quality is quite low so it's not suitable for showcasing high-end items or it will greatly improve your presentation. . However, separate containers are used for individual selection of the parts. 2 things: 1. The containers are very small. I measured an internal depth of 9mm and most of this space is taken up by foam. The foam compresses and is used to protect fragile items but may not suit me as many/most items I make are over 9mm and not all of those 9mm are usable. As the foam shrinks, it takes up some space.2. quality/appearance. The shell sleeve and liners are cleverly crafted with cutouts that hold and accommodate containers used as container liners. It's thin black foam and the foam isn't very good. I don't think it will last long or improve presentation much unless you are showing a collection of rocks or something. The trays I see in gemstone stores and at fairs are usually velvet, although some of the suppliers I buy materials from also offer flocked versions. This is the cheapest show I have ever seen and I have been to many pearl, jewelry and gemstone shows. The flocked version sold by jewelry retailers (and presumably us too) isn't much more expensive. While this is good for a kid with a rock collection, it's not good for an artist trying to show off their work. The individual containers are designed to fit perfectly and close well. The plastic is of good quality but scratches easily. When I took this out of the box, the thin foam didn't support the containers well (outside the tray) and some of them clattered to the floor. Most of them were scratched when I picked them up. The foam is also a bit big for the tray and needs to be refilled somehow. Once installed it holds things in place fairly well, but the tray also looks and feels very cheap. The edges are wavy/hollow and appear somewhat rough. While that's not great, it's okay if nobody picks up the tray to look at the collection. In general, the small containers are well made and have tight-fitting lids, but they are shallow, with an internal depth of 9mm, smaller. the space occupied by the foam. Foam and tray look and feel cheap, not as good as cotton pads. This would be great for a child with a rock or fossil collection, or even an adult with a rock or fossil collection. This is not the best option for artists who want to profitably present their work at exhibitions. I personally prefer the aluminum trays/crates that I've been using for years. While they are much better quality, more beautiful, and more durable, they cost about half as much.
