I wanted an EASY EASY EASY solution for watching Netflix etc on TV. I connected it to the HDMI port on the TV. The other end connects to the iPhone. Two buttons on TV remote control to switch input to HDMI. And there is a video on TV just as advertised. He simply copied the phone screen to the TV screen. The controls for the movie or whatever have to be done on the phone. You still have to rotate your phone to rotate the image, and maybe switch to full screen mode on a webpage to show how you like it on the big screen. The cable is short, that's the only negative, but that doesn't bother me.
