I love being a sous chef in the kitchen when cooking with my husband. I usually cut, but this is my first time using the spiralizer. When I first used this device I read the instructions but they weren't clear enough to properly assemble and use it. There are several blades stored on the side of the base and you should select the blade based on what you are cutting. Also, you should always use a metal stick to hold the food in place. I thought the stick was only for certain blades, but as I tried to hold onto the carrot I quickly realized it was meant to be used on all edibles! Be very, very careful when disassembling, assembling and cleaning. There are some sharp blades and it would be very easy to accidentally cut yourself. It has suction cups to keep it in place during use, but I recommend wetting them a bit before use so they really stick better. The product says everything on the top shelf is dishwasher safe, but I've only hand washed it so far. It folds quite compactly and all blades are hidden for safety. I love that there is a bonus item too! The Rolling Chopper is easy to use and safe, even for my 2 year old! She loves helping in the kitchen.
