I have three of these FIPs. I bought them individually because they all broke. After about a year of fairly heavy use, one of the knobs (the most used one) breaks off on every FIP. Replaced the first with the second, the second with the third. Whichever knob you turn the most, it will break. The tiny plastic hinge is ridiculously small and flimsy. The keycaps are still rotated on the screen with a small screwdriver or a mouse. But that rules out the possibility of having "real pens" on the device. I recommend replacing them in about a year if you are a frequent flyer. You can use broken ones for sensors that don't require a lot of knob turning. Download/Buy SPAD. It is an interface between many third-party sensors and this device. Check out free sensor samples and paid sensors. They only cost a few dollars per gauge. If you can afford $125 (x3 or more) for that hardware, $10 for a pair of software sensors is no problem. Despite the broken handle, I still give it four stars. It's amazing when the sensor is "there" instead of having to move across the screen to see the sensor. Individual sensors like this allow for a quick check/recheck that we need to do every time there are sensors on the machine. I would like them to reinforce the connection of the handle to the dial. I will probably buy more of these.
