I will be using hard plastic
This works in the center cup holders between my front seats but when I use it in the door cup holder it crumples just enough to prevent the lid from closing. It also takes two hands to lift the lid and dump the trash, unlike one hand in my RV, which is made of hard plastic with a spring-loaded snap-on lid.
