My first thoughts when buying this baby monitor were the micro SD memory card slots on the baby monitor and camera AND that it is closed circuit. No Wi-Fi so more secure. However, I'm starting to think the recording aspect was half-baked. Let me explain.1. I have SD cards inserted in the camera and parent unit. He writes. But when does he record? 24/7 recording? When does movement take place? Will it be overwritten when running out of disk space? Can I block specific videos from being deleted? Can I transfer recordings from the camera to the parent unit? There is no other way to transfer recordings to the phone other than removing the SD card. Lots of questions and no answers. It seems to be recording intermittently, meaning that sometimes it doesn't record any movement. I go straight in front of the camera and it doesn't record. And I'm not sure how to reproduce between camera and monitor. The play buttons feel a little clunky and it takes a few seconds for the video to catch up during playback. Let's just say that one aspect of the recording, as unique as it is for a closed circuit baby monitor, feels unfinished or not well thought out. So think of it as something that was put together at the last minute. Night vision is pretty clear. The quality is similar to 1080p, but the monitor may not be 1080p as the settings say it records at 480p.3. I have no idea what FPS is. Looks like 15 fps but it's not listed anywhere.4. The temperature seems right. Within -/+ 2 degrees.5. Pan and tilt is a nice touch for the price. And the included flexible stand is very convenient to put it at odd angles or to wrap things without having to set it up.6. The signal could be better. I don't get anything close to the advertised range of 650 feet. Of course, you will never do that unless these are ideal conditions. I get a maximum of 50-75 feet before it completely loses signal. The lower the signal level, the more delays and frame drops. To do this, the antenna must be pulled out. My Motorola halo showed almost 1000 feet. I would say I get about 200ft.7. There are no dedicated volume buttons. First you need to press the volume/brightness button and then use the arrows to adjust the volume. I'm not a fan of it. Monitors for children should have dedicated volume and brightness buttons.8. Real-time date and time on the monitor.9. All buttons have a very loud click. Definitely not quiet.10. The monitor stand is aligned sideways. I would prefer a stand that is the same length as the device. In general, this is a good baby monitor. Especially for the price I bought it on sale. It may need some revisions to the parent block and better explanation of the settings, as well as a recording feature that could actually use some TLC.
