It's the peak of hurricane season and it's never too early to prepare for the worst. The place where I live has been very fortunate in recent years and has avoided several major hurricanes, but when you're that lucky you always feel like your luck will eventually run out. I decided to find a good emergency radio and this multipurpose radio looked pretty good! This emergency radio can be powered by USB charging, manual start (more difficult than it looks), solar power or batteries. I recommend having batteries with you just in case, but using one of the other options for everything else. Also note that there is a switch to toggle between if you want to use battery or other power. It took me more time than I'd like to admit to figure it out. The functions of this radio include AM/FM, weather forecast, SOS signal and flashlight. It's also nice that there's a place to plug in a USB cable if you need to quickly charge your phone to make a quick call or text and get help. It's not the best emergency radio. never used but it is very good. I think it will serve its purpose during hurricane season and also come in handy on camping trips with my son and his fellow Boy Scouts.
