After a lot of research I decided on a Nesco dehydrator because of the advertised price. My main reason for buying this year was to dry all my ghost peppers instead of pickling or freezing them. I had 2 plants that got a LOT overhaul this year and I wanted to smoke these chilies and then dry them. This dehydrator did not disappoint. I've used it to dry basil and other spices and to thoroughly dehydrate my Smoked Ghost Chili. I'll have to wait until deer season is over to try venison, but I'm pretty sure that will be enough. FOR 1. Plenty of trays and accessories to dry literally any food. Even fruit rolls.2. It gets up to temperature fairly quickly and I used my wireless grill thermometer to check the temperature and it was only 1 degree (there will be an error as it's an analog temp gauge). Actually, I don't need a digital display to break me later in the future.3. He does his job and is needed almost at the prescribed time as indicated in the instructions.4. It's a pretty good price compared to other dehydrators I've read reviews of that can't reach high enough temperatures to properly dry jerky. Dishwasher safe trays and accessories. CONS: I can't think of any at the moment. If it stops doing what the company advertises I may come and update this review. Whether you want to dry spices, fruits, vegetables or just want to prepare jerky after a successful hunt, look no further. This one does it all at a good price and is durable.
