I started making smoothies for work because I wake up too early for breakfast. This is the perfect little blender at a great price. You really can't argue with that. Is he "calm"? Not quite, but it's a lot quieter than the last one I used. It will not break your ears in any way. Sometimes when I put in too much ice/frozen fruit I have to stop it and shake or add water, but as long as the mix is right it can mix large ice cubes and frozen fruit. Pretty strong for its size. The mug is a good size and the right side shows the order in which to add the ingredients to help them mix better. I also can't stress enough how nice it is to simply unscrew the base and take the mug to work. Is this the best mug? No it's plastic and will likely break if dropped too hard but I've had no problems with it and am very happy with what I got for what I paid for.
