I needed a mount for my GPS that didn't have to block the vent so I went with this one. It arrived quickly and was easy to understand - it works like a giant clothespin and the GPS sits securely in the protruding "mouth". It's weighted with a non-slip base the size of my open palm to keep it in place when placed on the dashboard. There's also a small peel-and-stick pad on the bottom that adds "stickiness," but I didn't want to use that. I would have preferred to be able to periodically remove the GPS from the dashboard when not in use and not leave a sticky adhesive behind. This is exactly what I needed as the suction cup on my old GPS's windshield was no longer sticking to the windshield.
