I finally had the chance to try it last night. So the downside is that there are no instructions, the upside is that it works. Basically, you don't want your strip of fabric to be wider than the width of the base plus the height of the side of the shape. Threading the strip into the form can be tricky, so I took a needle and thread and simply tied a small piece of string to the end of each strip of fabric, attached the needle and thread to the strip of fabric, and lowered the needle through the wide end of the form and it falls out of the narrow end (this can be done with a thread, but the needle acts like a small weight). This makes it easier to thread the fabric strip through the form. Then simply iron the strip of fabric through the narrow end. Halve strips of fabric, secure with pins, iron and voila, bias binding. Not that bad.
