You definitely get what you pay for.
This paper cutter was very cheap and you can tell. The base is made of lightweight plastic and nothing weighs it. The knife does not move very smoothly. But what did I expect for the price paid? However, I have to say that it is very well marked with measurements and grid lines. If you need to cut paper in a straight line and want something better than a ruler and scissors, this might work for you.
