Unfortunately the exhaust comes out on the surface to be vacuumed. My daughter and I tried to pick up some sawdust and the vacuum blew the sawdust all over the place. Since I wrote my first review, Eufy/Anker have sent me a new handheld vacuum. This little item is very durable and well built. It has a practical crevice nozzle and a brush attachment. This small handheld vacuum charges quickly and stays charged for a long time. It sits on my desk and is handy for picking up small, light items. I wish the suction power was stronger but for everything on the market it is normal or higher. Extensions don't have a home, so they sit in my desk drawer. We use it all the time to pick up spilled dog food, salt and of course regular house dust. I've used it in the garage in places my vacuum couldn't reach. Nice little tool.+
