The fit is fine, and the socks do not bind the calves too tightly. They are lightweight and fit my size 9 feet well and should stretch easily to size 10. The problem is with the mesh-like looseness of the knit, which causes the sock to snag even the slightest of rough spots on your soles and any toenail not perfectly trimmed and filed smooth with an emery board. I have been wearing bamboo socks made by Gold Toe, and they are silky smooth but knitted tightly enough that they do not snag, even when in contact with my calloused heels. If your feet are as smooth as glass and you maintain a perfect pedicure, then these socks should be fine. Otherwise, look for something with a nylon or cotton component in the bamboo blend and a tighter knit. I will not wear these socks again. The snagging is unbearable.EDIT: After a meticulous pedicure and extra lotion on my feet, I find these socks to be quite comfortable. Without the nylon component found in most other bamboo socks, they are not quite as silky as some, but they are soft. If you are willing to take the steps necessary to prevent snagging, I recommend these socks. Therefore I have raised my rating from three to four.
