Review on HINDAWI Sun Hats For Women Wide Brim UV Protection Summer Beach Packable Visor by Pablo Rudon

I bought this hat for an upcoming trip to Galveston with my family. Although we won’t be swimming in rough waters in the ocean, we will be visiting a water park that has a lazy river with lots of splash waterfall features and a wave pool, so I wanted something that would protect my head and face from the sun but wouldn’t come off too easily If I got splashed by rough sprays or dunked in the water. I think the quality so far is good . The stitching seems strong and straight and the fabric seems thick but light and breezy for good ventilation, which in the Texas heat is a necessity. I alao like that the under visor has a contrasting pattern. It all looks promising, until I went to put it on. The visor comes laying flat and it has a Velcro attachment to secure it to your head. I went to wrap the visor around my head to secure it in the back with the Velcro thinking I would have a lot of extra Velcro space to tighten if I needed to, but I didn’t even have enough to secure it on my head where I had wanted to place it.I had to secure the visor Velcro before I put it on my head and at the very end of the velcro, so only around 1/2 inch of velcro is securing the hat. When I put it on it sits high up on my head, sort of perched not firmly on. Which if I’m just walking around is fine, however I’m concerned when I am splashing around and jostling if it’s going to fly off. It seems like it could easily fall off if I even tilt my head a little to the side and back. Not good! Fortunately they do have a chinstrap that helps hold it on and it’s not too uncomfortable. It will help me not worry about retrieving my hat floating away every time it falls off but I’m kind of bummed that I need to wear it. I didn’t want to wear a chinstrap. I feel like I’m going to look like a senior citizen on a jungle tour rather than a cool breezy somewhat stylish mom just trying to wear a hat for shade with a little bit of style.🤣 But I guess that’s what I get for having a big fat head! LOLOther than being too tight I’m looking forward to using this hat. I think it’s going to work perfectly to shade my face and the material feels like it’s going to dry really quick which is paramount seeing as we will be in the water every day of our trip. Hopefully it stays together, especially on the chinstrap.
