This expensive problem adapter is looking for a solution. I know it's my fault for not fully reviewing all product photos. One I missed clearly states that the adapter will only work from a DisplayPort source like a laptop to an HDMI input device like a monitor. I have a different situation. HDMI DVR (source) to Displayport monitor (input). I loved the description of a photo that shows an advanced interface chip and claims that HD Transmission is an all-in-one video solution. I thought I found exactly what I needed. No, the small red "x" on one of the photos confirms that an HDMI source is connected to the DisplayPort input. Here is a big problem with the device. There are many Displayport to HDMI cables (called unidirectional cables) that do exactly the same thing as this adapter without any circuitry. If this chip were really useful, it would support a bi-directional interface, as the all-in-one video solution seems to claim. Three stars for an adapter that offers no significant benefits other than a basic $4 wired adapter!
