Review on πŸ–¨οΈ Enhanced Precision Printing with Twotrees Sliding Guideway Bearing Printer by Josue Porter

Revainrating 2 out of 5

My experience with Linear Motion products is good

So I bought this guide and the 400mm version of the black UniTak3D MGN12 linear guide to compare. Other. Based on my rating, this is the one returned out of 2. At first it seemed smooth out of the box, but standard with Chinese splints I took it apart to clean. I started with wd 40 to remove factory oil, then 91% IPA to remove wd 40, then acetone to remove ipa and the rest of the wd 40 ipa I didn't get. In case you're wondering, acetone doesn't damage the plastic parts of the bottom bracket. I used this method for both guides. Then I assembled everything and smeared some sewing machine oil on the rail and carriage, mounted the carriage on the rail and that's where the problems started (see video). It seems to be an issue with both the rail and the bottom bracket. I got tired of converting the bottom bracket to the Zyltech rail and that reduced some of the sticking but some still stayed together with uneven movement. Although I could have tried replacing the bearings, I didn't. I think it was worth it for me as the Unitech rail worked great after the cleaning process. While my experience with this Twotrees product was pretty bad, your experience may or may not be different, who knows. You take this risk with Chinese splints.
