This is the cutest winter hat in the world! It stretches great and fits snugly around my 3 month old baby. The inner material is very soft and warm, while the outer material is also soft and durable. It seems to block the wind and the fact that it covers her cheeks and forehead is perfect for keeping her face as warm as possible. The ties are great for holding up your hat if it twirls around while wearing it. They are also very soft and stretchy so they won't irritate her chin/neck. She has worn it about 10 times so durability and longevity is still questionable. I washed it (inside out according to instructions), in a mesh pouch before wearing it for the first time and it has survived a normal wash/dry cycle with no problems. I have no doubt it will grow with me and maybe I'll survive a second winter in this size because it's so stretchy. I love it very much and will buy it again and again.
