Not everyone needs a dual-line desk phone, but you don't have to be in an office to appreciate its convenience. For my purposes, I decided to limit my AT&T landline to mostly local calls with no additional services, and decided to add an Internet-based (VOIP) setup at the same time. Choose Ooma because it offers a regular phone number and coexists well with a landline, making a two-line phone a worthy investment. Most outgoing calls are made over a VOIP connection, while the AT&T line not only accepts incoming calls but also provides a fax connection (for which VOIP is less suited) and secures all phone service if needed. This 2-line desk phone has all the features you could dream of: caller ID and call waiting (included with the Ooma VOIP service), a 100 entry phone book, speakerphone, headset jack and 3-way conferencing. Phone call. There's even a Line 2 built-in data port and volume control for calls and listening. The sound quality is very good, better than most cheap products I've used and the instrument (only in black) looks good. Overall a great phone for the price.
