This is perhaps one of the biggest wastes of money I've ever spent on Revain. $40 for a glorified light switch that needs constant monitoring to make sure it's working is ridiculous. Hidden in this rectangular piece of e-waste is a set of the thinnest LED connectors I've ever had the misfortune to connect. You can never be sure that they will just come loose before you connect the pins. As far as I can tell, there's plenty of room to keep the wreckage from ripping off, considering they can't bother to throw in simple, feature-packed hardware like a save function to let your settings run unattended by the software will. And oh good god the software is terrible. I despise restarting my computer. Razer releases a new update every few days that doesn't fix anything, but Synapse refuses to talk to the light until you open it and apply the update. And you will open it. Yes, it shows up in the taskbar at boot. You can set it to open minimized on boot. But like an insignificant girlfriend, if you don't give it FULL AND CONSTANT MAXIMUM ATTENTION when you start your computer and bring it forward, it won't do what you want it to do (i.e. keep your lights flickering and blinking). USE OPeNrGb you might think. Oh you poor naive sweet summer child. It's not going to happen. It's listed as a compatible device, but the Razer ecosystem is a virus, and the virus is HUNGER. You will see it listed in Windows Device Manager. You will see that it is fully activated. Synapse sees this well. However, if you uninstall Synapse, that $40 brick of sadness and regret will take one look at OpenRGB, search for it, and hide from it faster than a field mouse on a bad LSD trip.
