This so-called bottle opener has nothing to hold onto the can. The parts to be tightened on the lid are made of smooth metal. So instead of grabbing the lid of the jar, it just slides over the lid. A damp towel works best. This product is absolutely useless. I returned it the same day it arrived. I am in pain all the time and I have neuropathy in my hands. Instead of doing the very simple job it was made for, I boxed it up, printed out a return label, and took it to the UPS store. The manufacturer should send me a receipt for my problem. Your description is fraudulent. DO NOT buy this useless product.
