Not quite as expected

I've never used a compostable bag like this before so didn't know what to expect. I put my 4 day old leftover food, coffee grounds, etc. in a small kitchen compost bin. When I went to empty it it leaked so I had to clean the bucket. However, the sides of the bag were intact, so I don't think the bag started to decompose - I just think there might have been a hole in the bottom through which the liquid leaked. As I ripped off another bag to replace the used one, I looked at the bottom and sure enough, there was a hole in the bottom seam. I don't know what to do but make sure you open the bags.
