I bought these stainless steel ties and a Tonyco cable tie gun that tightens them to attach spare garden hose ends. I usually use a "radiator clip" to attach the spare ends to my garden hose, but I want to get rid of the sharp stainless steel ends protruding from under the lag bolt. When I use a strapping tool to tighten the straps, the ratchet or gripping mechanism inside the metal tie does not immediately engage and allow the strap to loosen. If I use the tool to tighten the strap until the strap snaps at the end of the tool, the zip tie's holding mechanism still allows the strap to come loose before the holding mechanism catches and holds the strap. After four different methods, all of which were double, the hose is still leaking. I've tried a simple radiator clamp and it still works fine. Next I will try stainless steel closure bands.
