Does NOT work when connected to a router.

WILL NOT WORK as a junction box or similar, WILL NOT WORK when connected to a router. ran a long cable to our router in the other room to use this splitter for 2 computers and it doesn't work at all only when one computer is connected. I would assume it would work when connected to a modem but NOT to a router. I think the switch work is connected to the router, why not? ? I think that's cheap junk. Don't buy if you plan to connect to a router
