This pop filter seems to color the sound a bit and also changes the amount of reflected sound going into the microphone. The good news is that this is somewhat useful on the RODE PodMic, which has a very heavily shifted frequency response. You'll never get the close-talking sound you want with a PodMic, but it does tame the high frequencies a bit and also reduces room clutter. The downside is that it's very, very rough and huge. It's like talking to a big black porcupine. That would be way better on a condenser mic than an end address mic, but then why not just use a pop up screen instead and lose the highs? I'm not a big fan and I'm very glad I switched to SM7B.
