Terrible design, my cat fell off them.
The length of the base plate is 14 inches, which I think is too short. The steps are too close together and at too steep an angle. My cat has fallen off them more than once. The screw holes are too narrow and one of them keeps coming off the stud and floats freely in the drywall, which comes loose when your cat steps on it. My advice is to keep looking for steps or use small bookshelves about 6" in diameter and make it a step aisle, which is much safer than this one.
