I used this converter to connect the TV to the entertainment center. When I first plugged it in, the audio just buzzed. The documentation online and with the device says nothing about the format used. I later discovered that my TV had an audio format menu selection that allowed "PCM" to be selected. Once this was done, the audio conversion worked flawlessly. The audio from the entertainment center sounded great for whatever was being watched on TV.
