Immediately after the purchase, I simply connected the disk to the home server, launched the monitoring program (sintenel hard disk) and, using the script, started copying the server contents to it. By the will of fate, I was distracted for several hours, and when I opened the monitoring window, the temperature of the disk was 59 degrees and the copy speed dropped significantly, by this time 2.5 TB had managed to be copied. I copied robocopy, it does not write real speeds, it just counts percentages. Immediately turned off the disk, let it cool down. The next day I checked all the SMART attributes, there are no errors. except for one - a high temperature is registered and the program (not sintenel) recommends replacing the disk. I tried to drive surface tests - Victoria does not understand the disk - it writes a volume of 2 TB, it seems to see HD tune, the test passed, but the reading graphics are linear without a decline towards the end of the disk. There are no bad sections, about 10 sectors with a read delay from 60 to 200 ms. Which is not very good, but in general it is not critical. I tried to disassemble the box, but it did not go very well . very fragile latches, broke a few pieces . goodbye warranty. I took out the disk, inserted it into the server (hp microsrver gen8), the disk started up without problems. The temperature of the disk if all the disk slots are occupied did not exceed 42 degrees, if 2 disks in the basket - 37. It is only hotter than the seagate by 2 TB and 7200 rpm, but even then, only by 2 degrees. And yet, in a plastic box for a disk ventilation? holes on one side only about 1/10 of the long side. This is clearly not enough for intensive use. There is an air gap between the disk and the plastic of the box, which also has a negative effect on cooling. The disk itself in the box is mounted on rubber shock absorbers, which can save it in case of a fall. At the moment, the operating time is 2 weeks, the flight is normal . Conclusion. The disc is fully consistent with its purpose, but you need to closely monitor the temperature regime.
